The Nevada Veterans Assistance League, NVAL, established 2004 to assist the Nevada State Veterans Home, NSVH, in serving and caring for its residents.

NVAL is a 501 c3 organization providing goods and services for the residents which are not otherwise funded by the State or Federal governments. The NVAL Board of Directors is comprised of veterans from all branches of the services thus providing a broad overview of the residents’ needs and desires. NVAL chairman is Bob Garlow, an Air Force veteran and Boulder City resident.

NVAL provides specialized rehabilitation equipment which is not funded by the State or Federal governments. It also provides Christmas presents for the residents; one Christmas present for a family member of each resident; subsidizes outing meal costs for residents and portable oxygenators for use on the outings. NVAL provides Bingo Bucks and a canteen for the residents to buy snacks, ice cream, veterans’ hats, NSVH logo cups and shirts.
